Icarus progressed to the 1/4 Final of the Junior Cup for the first time with a hard fought victory against Wake Green at RAF Halton. Icarus were 2-0 down within 20 minutes and it looked like being a long afternoon until Andrew Martin-Tonks, who is making a return from a long term injury, stepped up with an outstanding hat-trick in 20 minutes to put Icarus 3-2 up at half time. Icarus were by now playing much the better football with Ash Steele making his competitve debut in midfield, alongside skipper for the day Adam Fleming, dictating play.Icarus continued to dominate the 2nd half, even when they went down to 10 men as Scott Hyndman was sent off with a straight red for a tackle from behind. Sub Adam Hutchings rounded things off with a superb 25 yard right footed volley into the roof of the net.
