Icarus
began the London Cup for the second season with a win, but
nobody had expected that they could rack up 10 goals. After
a tough pre-season the team began the game playing neat passing
football. Indeed straight from kick off, after the ball was
played across the line to a rejuvenated Dave Bond, who put
Icarus into an early lead. From this point onwards it was
one-way traffic, as Icarus restricted Wandsworth to one weak
shot at goal in the first half. This set the pattern for the
first half with Icarus keeping possession well and looking
to get both wingers into the game. Chance after chance fell
to the Icarus players and the score was 5-0 at half time.
After half time it was more of the same as Icarus continued
to dominate the game. The players were delighted to score
another 5 in the second half with conceding. This was an excellent
all round performance from Icarus and the Management will
hope for more of the same in the next round
